Community Pool
Coastal Kaleidoscope guests are welcome to use the community pool while staying. The first time you visit the pool you will need to obtain wristbands for each guest. There is a $2 deposit per wristband that will be refunded when you return the wristbands at the end of your stay. You will need to tell the staff that you are staying at 212 Outrigger.
Rules: Children under 11 must be accompanied by parent/guardian. No large inflatables are permitted. Alcohol and glass are prohibited in pool area.
The pool may be crowded or at capacity on nicer days.
Tennis and Pickleball Courts
Tennis/pickleball courts are located near the marina and pool. The courts are locked; the key is on the hook in the kitchen. PLEASE RETURN IT TO THIS LOCATION. Courts are available on a first come, first served basis for tennis and pickleball ONLY. View the local rules of play to ensure fair access.
Basketball Court
The basketball courts in the community are available on a first come, first served basis.
Sound Beach and Playground
Located near the pool and marina, it features a sandy beach, picnic areas, and playground equipment. The area is open dawn til dusk; no alcoholic beverages or glass containers are permitted.

Jockey’s Ridge State Park – 8 miles

North Carolina state park in Dare County, North Carolina in the United States. Located in Nags Head, North Carolina, it covers a 427-acre area, and includes the tallest active sand dune system in the eastern United States. It provides an ideal location for flying kites and watching sunsets. Hang gliding is a hallmark activity at the park, and a private concessionaire offers lessons. A second access area takes visitors through wetland habitats and allows for swimming, paddling, kiteboarding, and windsurfing on the Roanoke Sound.

Managed by the North Carolina Aquarium system, anglers can experience some of the best fishing on the East Coast from this 1,000 - foot long, concrete pier that reaches out over the Atlantic Ocean. Depending on the time of year, fishermen can target a wide variety of fish including black drum, bluefish, cobia, croaker, dolphin (mahi mahi), flounder, gray trout, king mackerel, pinfish, pigfish, pompano, puffers, rays, red drum, sheepshead, spadefish, Spanish mackerel, speckled trout, skate, spot and additional species.

The nearest public beach access is directly across Croatan Highway on Colington Rd. which becomes Ocean Bay Boulevard. There is a parking area with 40 spots, accessible beach access, showers, bath house, and life guards on duty (in season). There are many other beach access points both north and south.
Bodie Island Lighthouse – 19 miles

The Bodie Island Light Station is located at the northern end of Cape Hatteras National Seashore. The current lighthouse has been in service since 1872 and may be climbed during the summer months with an advance ticket purchased online.
(Other notable lighthouses in the Outer Banks include Cape Hatteras which is 61 miles to the south and Currituck Beach Lighthouse which is 32 miles to the north)
Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge – 27.5 miles

Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1938 to provide nesting, resting, and wintering habitat for migratory birds, including the greater snow geese and other migratory waterfowl, shorebirds, wading birds, raptors, and neotropical migrants; to provide habitat and protection for endangered and threatened species, such as loggerhead sea turtles; and to provide opportunities for public enjoyment of wildlife and wildlands resources. The refuge is located on the north end of Hatteras Island, a coastal barrier island and part of a chain of islands known as the Outer Banks, and includes beach, dunes, brackish ponds, and marshes. The bird list for Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge boasts over 370 species.
